OUR JOURNEY TO NET ZERO!

Update on our Commitment to Net Zero – declaration of emissions for 2022-23

“Put simply, net zero means cutting greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to as close to zero as possible, with any remaining emissions re-absorbed from the atmosphere, by oceans and forests for instance.” – United Nations

Net zero is important because it’s the state at which global warming stops and can be achieved through:  
– Cutting greenhouse gas emissions to as close to zero as possible 
– Re-absorbing any remaining emissions from the atmosphere, by oceans and forests for instance 
– Decarbonization efforts 
– Electrifying and digitizing operations

Pinkcity Jewelhouse has been working on achieving Net Zero and keeping with our belief in transparency, we are sharing excerpts from the report by FCF India, done to assess our Carbon emissions. This report has been performed in accordance with the GHG Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard and the ISO 14064-1:2018.

Our footprint as of Jan 31, 2023, was 1289.11 CO2e tonnes, of which Scope 1 (Emissions from Fuel Combustion Activities) was at 183.36 CO2e tonnes and Scope 2 (Emissions due to electricity purchased from the grid) was at 1105.75 CO2e tonnes.

To cut this, we have moved to use solar power and currently have 4 units installed with a capacity of 629 kWp (160 kWp, 99 kWp, 200 kWp, 170 kWp), which have saved 953.63 CO2e tonnes of emissions, equivalent to 28,464.56 trees planted, till date.
